Climate Quilt DIY Quilt Kit

Everything a K–12 educator needs to run a Climate Quilt ecoartistry and climate art program: curriculum overview, lesson plan links, photography guide, student certificates, and customization tools ~ all in one downloadable kit.

Category:

The Climate Quilt DIY Quilt Kit gives educators everything they need to bring ecoartistry into their classroom, home school, or learning program ~ no experience required.

Students in grades K–12 explore one of two themes ~ Here and Now (the natural world as it exists today) or The Future (the thriving planet they want to create) ~ through drawing, painting, photography, collage, or any creative medium. Finished artwork is submitted to the Climate Quilt Gallery, where each class receives their own unique named 'patch' gallery, visible to students, families, and communities around the world.

Your kit includes 5 downloadable guides:

  • Climate Quilt Curriculum ~ a complete educator guide covering program flow, themes, art prompts, assessment ideas, and standards alignment (NGSS, Core Arts, SEL, Common Core ELA)
  • Lesson Plan Links ~ a curated collection of free environmental education resources organized by grade band, K through 12, across science, art, social studies, and more
  • Art Photography How-To Guide ~ step-by-step instructions for capturing student artwork on a smartphone, with file naming and submission instructions
  • Student Certificates ~ a print-ready certificate of participation plus a Canva template for bulk digital generation
  • Customization Guide ~ ideas for creative twists (recycled materials, school murals, local species focus), how to build local partnerships, and a step-by-step exhibition checklist

The program runs as short as one week or as long as a full semester. Up to 3 classes and 90 students can participate, with each student contributing up to two art pieces ~ one per theme ~ for a maximum of 180 submitted images included in the kit.
